Header Challenge 29-08-12 - That was a Surprise = by Tom

Toms choice of Headers this week is - That was a Surprise.

My music this week is a mixed bag of music reflecting songs from the past.

My Surprise is when I saw Richards Scottish photos, it brought back memories from our holiday in May in the Scottish Isles. and thus I had found my Header of Glen Coe, which is 2 fold
1, we should have been going to the Isle of Arran, but owing to rough seas, it wasn't clear that there would be ferries back, so we were to go to Culzean Castle instead for the day and after  we had a trip round Glen Coe.
2,  My second surprise was when I took my Header of Glen Coe - the traffic on the right hand side really gave the photo some really great perspective to this wonderful sight to Glen Coe.

My Posts.
Pic 1
My 1st reflection - The coach driver saw this reflection and said any photographers onboard, yes yes yes I shouted, so he pulled in(as he was a photographer also).
Jumping out I took a few shots, then to my surprise, a little gust of wind came and -  no more reflections, talk about being in the right place at the right time, or what, lol.

My 2nd post pic and 2nd reflection
Loch Lomond.

As we were passing Loch Lomond, our driver again pulled in for a photo shoot,
It was a steep slope, so I took my time going down, when I did get down, to my surprise our driver
had already taken his pics and checking them out.
I guess this is a mirror reflection, pure magic.

Post pics 3-4
We stayed 1 night on the Isle of Mull and our Hotel was so near the beach, it only took a couple of minutes to walk it, heres another Reflection we saw this Heron and I quickly captured him flying low over the ocean, nice surprise to see his reflection.
Looking out of our Hotel window I saw these 2 Stags watching me, wow surprise surprise, quickly swung my camera into action and click click and they were gone.

My last post pic

While at Culzean Castle - Julie and I went down to the beach there, a very pretty beach too.
I was watching 2 Oyster Catchers and as I got closer one flew off and over to a small cliff, to take me away from where their young ones were.
I thought ha, he wants me to photograph him-her, so I thought I would oblige and leave her to look after the young ones.

I put my 300mm lens on and started to climb a little ( not far- dont like heights) just enuff to get a decent shot of him. (not bad, even if I say so myself) lol.

Well thats all folks of my Scottish surprises.
Go visit the other Headbangers and see what their surprises are.

Good Luck.

The wilds of Scotland sure look inviting, judging by your photos.

A photographic coach driver. I bet he has taken as nearly as many photos as you have on all these trips you go on.

What a place. The wildlife there are a great surprise to me. The abstract art that the landscape becomes through the lens was surprise enough for me, so I am bowled over!

What wonderful surprises, Stewart - but then you always do that for us ! Gorgeous photos - loved that header, and the mountain-side reflection. What was even more surprising was that your bus driver was a fellow photographer !
