This week I'm featuring  Barbara Hepworth and her Garden.
Hepworths Museum and Garden @ St Ives Cornwall offers an insight into her work of one of Britains most important 20th century Artists.

My Header
Dame Barbara Hepworth DBE (10-01-1903 --20-05-1975)
was an English Artist and Sculptor.

Hepworth's Studio.
The Museum and Gardens are open to the public.
Her work exemplifies Modernism and in particular modern sculpture.

Hepworth was a leading figure in the colony of Artists who lived and worked in St Ives (Cornwall) during the 2nd World War.

Hepworth married the Painter Ben Nicholson in 1938-after his divorce - the couple had triplets in 1934 The couple later divorced in 1951

Hepworth lived in Trewyn Studios in St Ives from 1949 until her death in 1975

Following her death, her studio and house in St Ives became the Barbara Hepworth Museum which came under control of the Tate in1980.

I hope ev1 has enjoyed the history of Barbara Hepworth.

I like the sculptures, but especially the shot of her tools in the studio. Now for a listen to that song you posted...

I keep thinking of England in terms of castles and kings, but you have succeeded in showing us there is a modern touch hidden among the castles. Love the shapes of Hepworth's statuary!

Artists walk to the beat of a different drummer. And, I'm so glad that they do. What creativity we would be robbed of if they didn't.
Thank you, Stewart.

Beautiful captures Stewart, how did Julie photo look? Was she shooting through the sculpture?

I'm not much into modern art but this was fascinating to read through. I do love the image you took of the circular sculpture through the woods; it's framed beautifully!

These sculptures are really neat. I usually don't care much for modern art, but I really like these sculptures. You captured some beautiful shapes of art.
