Santa comes to Grantham Town - with the Grantham Firemen raising money for Charity
I heard that Grantham was having a Ferris Wheel coming to Town on St Peters Hill, WOW I thought, Ferris Wheel, Like Nottingham eh!! - well I must admit, when I saw it, I felt real deflated, it seemed a little small, like a fairground Big Wheel.
Later talking to someone running one of the stalls, I found out that it was one of the original Ferris wheel from the early years and it was bought as a wreck and rebuilt by the new owner, so this Ferris Wheel has quite a lot of History behind it.
There were also a few stalls there to - Hook a Duck and Hairy Mary or Aunt Sally( similar to the coconut shy)
So, if you wish to see these stalls and wheel - they are here until Boxing Day.
A walk into Town today with the camera to see whats happening and we 1st found Santa and Granthams Firemen outside Morrisons Centre collecting money for charity.
Santa gave me a wave as I took his photo. I dropped money into the firemens bucket and also took their photo.

Hope you relayed to Santa what your Christmas wish was. :)
Your fireman looked quite jolly on this day.
I love a ferris wheel! This one is like the ones I remember growing up. I liked being up high but when it rocked it was scary!
that's one cool santa
How nice! I love these photos! Great post!
That Ferris wheel looks like fun. AND it's an antique! Your Santa looks like a great dude.
Father Chrismas in all sizes, lol !
Believe it or not, I prefer the smaller ferris wheels. There must be a longer wait for the giant ones. Plus, if it got stuck up there, I stand a reasonable chance of climbing down.
I think that Ferris Wheel looks pretty neat. I guess you've been to London so often that you've gotten spoiled. That's a great picture of Santa.
That is a very fun Santa! Nice set of shots.
Santa looks like he's flying high (something in that milk ? ;>)
Wonderful ferris wheel (like the way I remember them).
Great header, Stewart !
Brilliant photos Stewart. I admire all firefighters everywhere. Not only do they take care of us but they also collect for charity. I often see them on street corners here with their boots ready to collect any spare cash.
I bet you had a lot of fun! Christmas is very obviously here :-)
