My Header is Planes - The Concorde.
1st flight 2nd March 1969.
Introduction 21st January 1976
Retired 26th November 2003
My Header Concorde is stationed at Duxford.




Boats = The Cutty Sark

This is the Cutty Sark - just finishing off the rebuild after the fire.
Reopened by the Queen 25th April 2012.

Cutty Sark and her history.

1870 - 78 = China Tea Years
1878 - 83 = Tramping for cargoes
1883 - 95 = The australian wool  Years
1895 - 1922 = The portuguese Years
1922 = moved from Falmouth to her resting place at Greenwich.


Trains = Sir nigel Gresley.
Relaunched as Sir Nigel Gresley 30th October 1937.
1966-1990 gained her current B.R. Blue as 60007and retained the same after
the 2006 overhaul.

An excellent shot of the Concorde. I would have really have loved to have flown in her, but will never get that opportunity now.

A sailing ship and a steam train. Who could ask for more.

I was noticing the size of the building it takes to house the Concorde...amazing.
The ship is beautiful. She's regal even today!
The steam engine: powerful looking and magnificent. I love trains.

Those are really lovely classic forms of transportation. I didn't know the history of the Cutty Sark before now. Thanks for the info with the great images.

The Concorde may be faster and Cutty Sark taste better, but Sir Nigel wins with me :-)
