Days Gone - By.

Let me take you on a trip  - Back in Time - some of you will maybe remember ?.

Into Town - do you travel by Bus?
 Or Walk?

 Maybe get a "cuppa"

Ah - The ol Bill Boards - any of the items remembered?

While the Ladies go shopping - the Gentlemen pop into the Local
Ah - the bar - wots a disco-lounge bar? - pop in for a chat
And A Pint and Pork-Pie

 The ladies go shopping
Into the CO_OP  spend their money and get their Divi.
Need a new Bath Tub from the Hardware Dept - Friday night is Bath night - Remember??
If you could afford it - you had your shopping delivered by the boy on his CO_OP Bike then give him a penny.

Then home again to do some baking and cooking

The Height of the fashion ??

If you wish to see what  it was Like in the "Good Old Days"

I get nostalgic when I see these old pictures ! I have a photo of my Grandma where she wears exactly the same costume with the hat as on your photo ! Apparently it was the same fashion everywhere !

I really like your trip back into time. It may have been a little before my time, but not by much. When I was young and we visited my grandparents, I had my Saturday night bath in a tub much like one you showed at the co-op. Grandma heated the water on her coal-burning stove.

Thanks for the memories.

Hi Stewart, Great trip into the past... Sometimes, I wish we still lived like that. Technology has taken over our lives these days. (Of course, I would have a hard time giving up my computer... ha)

We have colonial Williamsburg, Virginia here in the U.S. but nothing quite like this. Totally charming and the sepia tone adds a nice nostalgic touch.

The clothes of the two ladies in the second photograph give a clue to the date the photographs were taken.

I love seeing old pictures. They are my favorites, I guess. I love history.

Looks a great place to visit. Somewhere similar is Crich in Derbyshire and Ironbridge in Telford. Both worth visiting I think.

Stepping back in time...and it feels so good to do that. I miss the quietness and those 'not-so-hectic' times. I love the tones you used for these photos. Perfect.
Hugs,
Jackie

Delightful visit to the past! A little before my time, but as a lad, I was in some old country stores that had not changed much from the 20's and 30's.
