That is some spire. I really like the legend explanation of why it's twisted better than the scientific explanation. Thanks for the link and the neat picture.

It seems George and I have complementary perspectives on the same thing. I got a good laugh at the legendary explanation, but I'm glad they explained that it's 32 tons of lead weighing on untreated lumber.

I had never seen that spire before. Marvelous photo!
