People in Grantham

I was out and about in Grantham on Sunday - it was the Christmas Market & fair.
Here's six of the 100s of folk who were about too.

All wonderful characters! The expressions and feelings evoked makes the photos super special!

You certainly know how to capture the 'moment' Imac.
I look at the first photo and think, "I wonder who the flowers are for...." and I wonder if they will bring as big a smile to the person who receives them as they did to me. The second photo...Ohhh, the smiles say it all. What a happy moment you captured. The third picture looks like it needs to be in National Geographic. I love that photo! (His sweet nose looks cold...and the pipe!...love the pipe!)
The last photo is full of smiles....the couple...the colorful present...and I love the sky in the background, Imac. I'm sorry to make this comment so long....but I love to tell what I see and feel as I look at your work. It blesses me. It really does.

I love Christmas markets ! When my parents moved to Belgium 50 years ago, there was no Christmas tree, no Christmas decoration, just nothing. Over the years it moved in and now it's like everywhere ! There is even a huge Christmas market in Brussels now.
When I was 15 we had to go to Aachen to see a Christmas market, Europe changes !
My Italian husband never had a Christmas tree either, it wasn't the use, they had big creches like a whole village. Now you have Christmas trees in Italy too.

LOVE the guy with the pipe!! He looks as though he's just wandered in from the wilds of Middle Earth. I bet his life's an interesting one! I also really like the woman in the second - the way she's smiling back to you.

I'm still not confident enough to take peoples' pictures like this; if there are every people in my shots, I just snap and run!

It's the Edinburgh Christmas market too - I was there today, just drinking in the atmosphere. I'll maybe go back later and get some evening shots, and maybe some early morning ones too, just for practise.

Nice people one and all! :-)

PS I suppose you have once made a post about the most famous man (besides you!) who ever lived in Grantham? ;-)

I love people pictures. Most of the folks I'd like to photograph won't let me! I guess I'll have to go undercover!

Wonderful and very authentic photos of people. You do know how capture their characters and I love the result. They are not hiding behind false (and soulless) smiles - if they smile on your photos, it's just because they are happy or someone made a joke. Photos like these make me happy too.

A good first attempt at street photography. You've certainly found a few eccentrics.
