Archaeological Dig at Belton House.

An Archaeological Dig is taking place at Belton House at the moment in search of the Lost Garden.
DW and I visited on Sunday and took a few photo's of the progress that they have made so far.
Some interesting items have also been found
Coins,Bones, Pottery ect.
The team also have found the old pathway and a stone raised flower bed.

Archaeological digs are absolutely fascinating. We enjoyed watching archaeologists working in Jamestown when we were there. I look forward to your follow-up pictures.

I think I'll bury some stones in the garden and get some archaeologists to dig up the rest of it for me.

Archaeology is fun and a necessity for understanding what went before us. If we don't know that, we don't know where we are going.

I love the first photos. Yes, they are so exciting. Makes me want to go out in my yard with a shovel.

Reminds me of the archaeology dig I was part of a zillion years ago. They are probably digging up evidence of me from the 70s now.
