These are great pictures, just my sort of thing!
Your pictures are great, thank you for also including a picture of the explanation. Facinating. It really highlights man's care of man. How freakish to have that much obvious responsibility for someone else's life.
I could have spent ages here! Nothing like some old machinery! Great shots!
Very interesting.. Thanks for the explanations especially.... Old machinery is so fascinating...
Cold here this week... We've had a fire in the fireplace all week... LOVE it.

You have a great eye and impressive skill. These pics have an appealing aesthetic quality to them.
Absolutely fascinating stuff Stewart, and exceptional photography!
Fascinating post and great photos!
What an interesting piece of history, Stewart - well told in photos (and photos of the info boards). Sure looks worthy of a visit.
Loved your header too (although they look like a 'clean' dozen ;>)
This mine looks like a fascinating place to visit. The machinery and technology of the time the mine was in use is interesting for the glimpse it gives of the lives of the miners. I think it would be quite an experience to go down the shaft.
A lot of power on display here, Stewart...Great photos!!
The pictures are beautiful, but I am not a mechanic fan, lol !
Without reading the header made me think of the "Yellow submarine" and indeed that was it ! I have just been on a big exposition "The Golden Sixties" in Liège, of course there were the Beatles too, I would never have believed when I was twenty to see my furniture my music, my clothes etc in an exhibition, lol !
