Arn't you ready yet Stew?
Cor blimey, You take ages.
Ok ok, I'm coming, just checking out my Nikons.
We set off - on a cold but sunny day - to climb up to the ruined Castle.
After 2 wrong turnings, we find a road leading up to the path to the castle,
on the way up - we meet a couple who are older than us - striding past us as though we were the older pair.ha, we say, you country folk are a lot fitter than us townies.
We were then told we had chosen the harder way up to the Castle, oh well, we Townies havent got the stamina like you Country folk, and we usually do things the hard way anyway.
After 6 or 7 stops to get our breath and 10-12 camera stops, we finally make it to the top. Oh, I almost forgot, we had a few toffee (sweet) breaks too.
The next post will be the views from the top.
love the third and last photos. but that header of yours is the very best, what a hoot! how did you achieve that? did you have to pay them? lol
ReplyDeleteWow! What a place! It must have looked so impressive when the castle still stood.
ReplyDeleteAnd your header made me laugh :)
I can't imagine having to walk up that hill every day just to go home :) I guess that was a good place for a castle, invaders would have been tired out by the time they got to the top.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot imac, and that header..........LOL
Toffee breaks sound wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are grand (as usual) and I am looking forward to your next ones.
I really enjoyed reading about the trip to Wales and looking at the beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteI love that header photo!
Looks like a lovely walk! I would be as fit as a fiddle if I walked that hill every day, either that or on my knees!!! Beautiful scenery, great photos. Hmmmm......the person in that header seems familiar.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Imac. Love the second one.
ReplyDeletealso loved your header. It made me laugh.
ReplyDeletehaha! Great header image!
ReplyDeleteYour header is so funny, Mac.... Crazy guy you are!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got out there and did some hiking.... The last 2-3 pictures of the area are fabulous. Can't wait to see the castle pictures.

ReplyDeleteThat looks hard but fun. The pictures are great and I look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteHi Imac, Wales, there are such wonderful views.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to the top.
Love your header, great idea.A laugh a day keeps the whatever away.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
Hello dear Imac,welcome back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day for a walk but I imagine it was really cold there as well!
Did you meet the little Doroth in this trip?I miss her!:)
I want to see more for this fabulous place!
Have a nice week,
hugs
Léia
The first shot shows you're doing the best to get into the spirit of being on a Welsh holiday - up, dressed but still asleep!!
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed my morning French Roast and your fascinating Wales tour. Now, a follower, I won't miss a thing :)
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are great - looking forward to seeing some more.
ReplyDeleteHow did you make that header - brilliant :o)
Wow! *huff puff* the air sure does get thinner up here doesn't it? ;o) Great shots as always!
ReplyDeleteMac: That last shot was a classic, great castle. Your header has to go, if the wife sees the way those girls are fawning over you, well trouble is a brewing.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens. I remember visiting with a couple who described their ascent of Mt. Rainier a number of years before. When we had worked out the arithmetic to realize they had to be in their mid-70s, we looked after them and they were long gone on the trail. We were still resting.
ReplyDeleteHiking in Wales. Hmm. I need to know more.
What an old ruin that is...... you not the Castle.. ;o) Only kidding my friend I admire you for taking the walk in the first place.
ReplyDeleteSM, I've been meaning to comment on your header...it made my day when I first saw it...wonderfully fun...such a handsome candidate...
ReplyDeletelove the walk you took me on...Wales is so lovely...keep the adventures coming...anxious to see more
Blessings
Very cool. Looking forward to the next installment!
ReplyDeleteNice pics Stew. Did you sneak another toffee by letting R go in front?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place you've been to! I enjoyed every photo.
