It's a pheasant, beautiful to look at, but noisy flappy birds, with a tendency to try and commit suicide on the roads. The female is plain brown I'm afraid. We have black ones round here too, or they might be partridges?
Okay, so I'm trying to learn how to take better pictures, right? So I found an online article that said when shooting portraits I should pay special attention to the details around the eyes. That sounds fair enough. When I began looking back at people's eyes in my photos... (sigh) I became depressed.
Did you use a tripod for these shots? How often do you NOT use a tripod? I think I have some kind of constant internal seismic tremor problem. If I don't use a tripod or table or wall... blurry eyes.
