The beauty of Winters Wrath

Just one breath and the waters turn to ice,
Come - see the beauty of one such slice,
The cruel wrath of winter is almost over,
Then our fields will be carpeted with green clover.

Ice-Age

In this Photo - what do you see?
Is it
A Frozen  waste land - far far away,
With Mountains - Trees - Sky and Sea,
Where beyond one breath - no hearts beat.

You tell me ---What You - See.

Young - Jessie Nevin

Born Jessie Nevin 1925 in Essex.
Here's my 3rd post of MIL Jessie - and what she got up to in her younger years.

My 1st photo shows Jessie practicing her Acrobatics,
Jessie joined an Acrobatic Team called The Elite Six and performed on stage around the Country, until an accident to her anckle, which stopped her performing.

My 2nd Photos shows Jessie dancing.
Jessie joined a Dance Group called Clayton-Jackie-Rona(Jessie) touring and performing around the Country also.
Jessie once belonged a dance theatre group who also had The George Cole as a member.
Jessie appeared around the Country appearing in a dance group which appeared in The White Horse inn - in 1939, where Little Jessie Nevin did a Speciality Dance - with the Boys and Girls.
Also appearing in the White Horse Inn was a young Lady called - Gretchen Franklin (Ethel in Eastenders).
My MIL was doing real well and knew a few famous folk.
(click the photo - of the White Horse Inn and see if you know any more folk that appeared with her.)

Jessie Joined a Ballroom Dance club and danced her way through the certificates to reach the Gold awards.
1967 jessie and her DH won a dance competition at Butlins for the News of the World Newspaper.

After Jessies DH died, she joined many groups in Canvey from Flower arranging -  dancing  and many more
also made lots of friends and was popular where-ever she went.

Jessie started to go on Cruises with friends and also with a Dance Group.
The Lady (one of the leaders of the dance group) appeared on the TV program called The Chase not so long ago.
Jessie took a very large suitcase and many bags with her on the cruises, with many outfits, this photo shows just one outfit.
Im proud to be Jessies SIL.

God bless you Jessie.

Jessie = My Mother in Law - Post 1

Jessie, my MIL from Canvey Island. She loves her Garden and her Cruises, nobody can say - she didnt enjoy life when she could.

Jessie would visit us around 3 times a year - plus Christmas time, she would enjoy a healthy breakfast, go to Downtown - spend her money on skirts and tops for her cruises - "suit cases" full to take home.Sigh!! Jessie also really enjoyed her soaps on the TV - Plus the sub titles on as well Double Sigh !!!!( thats was the time for me to go into my little cupboard with the puter) she would also love a glass of Sherry with her dinner - or a glass of wine.

Jessie belonged several clubs and would also enjoy entering Flower Arranging competitions - and mostly coming away with awards for them too, also helping to decorate the Church with flowers.

Jessie loves to dress real smart - and "always" wore a hat - er - you should see the hat boxes stacked high -really loves her jewellery too - she is well liked by all and has many friends - loves to be in the centre of everything happening. I call her "Queen Sheba"

To be Continued.
