The Church (ROCK) Cemetery Nottingham

Lies very near the site of which the Goose Fair is held on..

Designed by Edwin Pattchitt and opened in 1856.
The Cemetery is now closed - unless you have a plot booked.
There are estimated 100.000 souls that lay within this Cemetery.

If you are interested in Cemeteries (or not), you will be with this one,
as its ---- unique because it occupies a site that was previously sand pits cut into
the Nottingham Sandstone rock (from its name) and with caves ---------  To be Continued -------.

There seems to be lot of sculpted art about. I hope it is well taken care of.

I am in awe of old historic cemeteries, a photographer's dream! Beautiful shots of amazing art, imac. I would think the 'old souls' would be delighted that we find their home so fascinating!

Your photos of the statues are very impressive. I'm one of those who likes to walk through a cemetery, for the peace it and for the history.

These old cimetaries have so much artwork ! today there is just a little cross on a grave, or you get incinerated.
