Wales Walk (1)

Arn't you ready yet Stew?
Cor blimey, You take ages.

Ok ok, I'm coming, just checking out my Nikons.

We set off - on a cold but sunny day - to climb up to the ruined Castle.

After 2 wrong turnings, we find a road leading up to the path to the castle,
on the way up - we meet a couple who are older than us - striding past us as though we were the older pair.ha, we say, you country folk are a lot fitter than us townies.

We were then told we had chosen the harder way up to the Castle, oh well, we Townies havent got the stamina like you Country folk, and we usually do things the hard way anyway.

After 6 or 7 stops to get our breath and 10-12 camera stops, we finally make it to the top. Oh, I almost forgot, we had a few toffee (sweet) breaks too.

The next post will be the views from the top.

Wow! What a place! It must have looked so impressive when the castle still stood.

And your header made me laugh :)

I can't imagine having to walk up that hill every day just to go home :) I guess that was a good place for a castle, invaders would have been tired out by the time they got to the top.

Beautiful shot imac, and that header..........LOL

Looks like a lovely walk! I would be as fit as a fiddle if I walked that hill every day, either that or on my knees!!! Beautiful scenery, great photos. Hmmmm......the person in that header seems familiar.....

The first shot shows you're doing the best to get into the spirit of being on a Welsh holiday - up, dressed but still asleep!!

Mac: That last shot was a classic, great castle. Your header has to go, if the wife sees the way those girls are fawning over you, well trouble is a brewing.

I hate it when that happens. I remember visiting with a couple who described their ascent of Mt. Rainier a number of years before. When we had worked out the arithmetic to realize they had to be in their mid-70s, we looked after them and they were long gone on the trail. We were still resting.

Hiking in Wales. Hmm. I need to know more.
