While taking a stroll through the countryside, rest awhile at The Barleygate.
Time for a photograph or two, then a picnic, out comes the flask - with hot milky coffee, a small pork-pie and a packet of crisps, followed by a chocholate flapjack. Time to stroll back to the country cottage by the sea, "thinking" the coast road back would be nice.-----

I liked this fence with an open gate, it's really poetic!

I adore this photo!! Oh and the picnic sounds divine!
I would like that to go through here.
Looks like a perfect spot for a picnic! Thanks for the summer reminder. As you know I miss summer more than my best friend. ;o)
Thanks for this beautiful reminder of summer. The picnic sounds wonderful -- what time should I be there?
As I write it's getting dark outside already (4.20pm!). I am longing for the return of summer. Nice pic and narrative :)
A rabbi and a priest meet up with Saint Peter at the barleygates. No, that's not gonna work, nevermind.
Yum, Both the walk and picnic sound like fun.. I'll be there soon.. Save some chocolate flapjack for me. Okay???

Oh, you know I love old buildings, barns, wood....and this gate fits right in with what makes me smile in a photo. The barley is soft looking....a nice photograph, Imac.

(I haven't photographed anything worthy of a blog, lately...shame on me!)
You weren't one of the Famous Five were you? I can imagine you in shorts, riding a bike and drinking lashings of ginger beer! It's what your photo reminds me of.
sounds like a perfect day to me:)
Don't remind me of it - on the other hand: Please do :-)
A serene photo and a picnic sounds wonderful in such a location.
Mac: Just a question as I read through, is there anything else in the flask.
I'm back there ... enjoying summer ... are we allowed pork pies?
