My Uncle Harry and several generations past in my family were master bakers. When I mention this fact, the connotations of the phrase causes much amusement.
The cake looks superb, you are lucky to have the shop in the village, sadly the home-made variety of cake is less and less available... all mass produced collarty mixture that gums up the mouth. Bread is the same now in supermarkets. Master baked bread has no comparison.
This 'gene' in the family carries on as 4 of my 5 children are makers of lovely bread and cakes, but not as a commercial level.
Love your photography!
