The story - I was walking through the Hospital Grounds this afternoon, when I looked up at the sky, There was this beautiful curved feathered cloud, and at the end was this Upside Down Rainbow, my mobile was in my locker so ran into the lodge and rung DW and this is what she caught -----( I need to buy a mobile with a good mp camera to it)......

A RARE VISION INDEED. (This photo has NOT been turned upside down)

I saw one a couple of years ago. No camera, of course. No one believed me and I was beginning to doubt the memory. Thank you for showing this one :)

Hi Imac, there was an article in the paper, Telegraph, last autumn about reverse rainbows, showing one and the write up.
Fantastic I say.
I love your pictures and the last one reminds me of a row of dolphins in the sea.
Thanks for sharing.

Whoa, you always play with one's perception of the world; love coming here to see what you've got to show us. Very fun and wonderful shots.

Absolutely smashing series. Love the ice formations but the very last shot is truly amazing. There is so much going on in that shot. The mirror reflection is great. I too once shot a sunset through my car mirror.

Carver said...

Those are all great shots. The reflection is so beautiful and the last one with the rainbow almost looks like light through a prism.

Imac, this is very clever! All your photos are spectacular but the last one is the most beautiful for me. And the upside down rainbow is a real never seen, or at least a rare phenomenon. At first I thought it was a trick and the photo was turned upside down, but when I read the article I understood a little bit how it happened.

These are delightful. All that beauty in the ordinary. I love the way the clouds seem to emerge from the snow on the car. That one was a subtle surprise.

I never saw a rainbow do a back flip before. Great stuff!

Mac: Those are some neat shots of the sky and love your rainbow.

We hit -11F this morning but it has warmed up to a balmy -4F now.

Great shots! Last one first - I love the rainbow in the clouds. I know there's a name for it but I don't remember it. :-)

Then there is the seeming contradiction of the reflection of the blue sky is something surrounded by ice.

Great captures! :-)

Those ice shots were just fantastic! I can't wait that end of month comes. There's this ice sculpture contest that I'm hoping to be able to see and maybe catch few photos:)

Happy week end and SWF!
