Mac: Cool capture of the locks but the fowl gave you a great butt shot.

Nice to see the wildlife on your canal tour. Swans like floating islands and that lovely little squirrel in his winter coat.
Have a Happy New Year and go easy on the booze, you may see too many squirrels!

I still remember changing the locks along midland canals, but not such pretty scenes as these.

Love the synchronized ducking the swans are displaying. (Er, those are swans, right?)

I love anything to do with canals and these photos are great. Not a canal I've heard of before, looks a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing your world with us.

I love the swan picture and in years gone past Nigel & I often did barge boat holidays and I particularly loved the locks - nothing beats walking along a canal :) Happy New Year, Judith

I would love to walk there today. The swans look like part of a synchronized swim team.

imac, at first I thought you were photographing a bridge that was sinking in the middle, duh! The ducks' end up is a great catch! :)

maryt/theteach said...

I didn't mean "end up" I meant "bottoms up," imac! Ha!

The locks look small and quaint, yet a major drop in water level.
Great animal shots.
