My Header
What a beauty
I can hear you say, ah", Macs gone for the easy shot"
But -- far from it -
While on the steps trimming some growth that had spread, I noticed this Iris and the inside - can't recall of having seen this before, I had to photograph this shot.
I had to swop the step ladder for a smaller one, then fixed my camera on my mono pod and leaned across the top step, with my camera and mono pod underneath me, focussing as best I could, capturing the outer petals, on how they lay positioned showing their veins and holding their centre piece - whitish, showing yellow edges and hairs and with purple double stripes in the centre.
So there was no contest between my pics this week, this had to lead my Macro shots for this weeks challenge Header.

Oh me, oh my! The details are pristine! I liked the photos that you posted in the body even more than the header. The side shot of the flower, especially because of the way it shows off the beard. The pollen on the fly is a bonus. The bee picture is so sharp, you can see more than the big, compound eye... but you can clearly see the simple eyes (ocelli) above!! I like how this series demonstrates your talent and the beauty in God's creation. I mean to catch some new water drop macros soon. That bee though... I think that was my favorite!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive indeed! The flowers where especially exquisite.
ReplyDeleteNo fair! You have a TON of awesome images. I love the depth of field on your header image. There's some crisp, and some soft, like a mystery. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe raindrops on grass is exquisite.
You may very well have the best talent (art), skill (science), patience, and equipment for this particular challenge theme. You always have the best of macros.
ReplyDeleteBut your "lily" is an iris.
Mac: Wonderful series of macro shots, one is better then the next. Very nice grouping of photos my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly been busy in your garden Stewie. I hope you finished your gardening tasks, as well as your photography
ReplyDeleteHi There, Great macro shots. What you are calling a Lily is what we call an Iris in our country. SO beautiful....
ReplyDeleteLove all of the macros.
Hugs,
Betsy
Your macros are absolutely marvelous. I'm very impressed with what you had to do to get your header, but it was definitely worth it.
