SHOP WINDOW is my choice for this weeks Header Challenge.
What have YOU seen in a shop window??
My Music is - Window Shop by Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi.
While we were having a break in Derbyshire a couple of years ago, we stopped off in Buxton, Julie wanted to do a little ladies shopping. ohhhh groannnn, I said I'll meet you back here in 2 hours, back here - happened to be a Bygone Days shop, so off we went our seperate ways, I went off for a pint or 2, when the time came to meet, I stood outside the Bygone days shop, looking at my watch, J was already 10 mins late. Anyway, to pass even more time I looked in the shop window to see all these articles from the bygone days.
In the window was this silver female doll? covered in this silver mirror squares, as you can see.
I stood there wondering if it was one of these street Artists who stand still and not move at all.
My mobile rang, it was J to say she had been held up and should be about another 10-15 minutes.
Well, still looking at this model? no movement at all, was it a real person? or just a Mannequin doll? no movement at all still, it must be a mannequin, I watched another 5 mins, still no movement, when J turned up, with saying sorry sorry sorry, I told J about this doll and J said its a mannequin, as we walked off, I happened to turn around and this mannequin waved, well B***** would you believe it.
I should have gone in and asked how much that Mannequin was???? lol.
I should have gone in and asked how much that Mannequin was???? lol.
My Post pics are the 3 shop windows from Southwell dressed with the Magnificent Nikon displays,
not cameras but specs - (glasses).
Wonder if they are better than the other makers of specs? - may try these next time I need to change.
Go see what the other Headbangers have seen in their Shop Window?
You will find these good folk on my side bar, nr my shield.
GOOD LUCK
Very neat!
ReplyDeleteMac: That is so cool and what a great story. I'm so glad she waved.
ReplyDeleteGreat story, Stewart. I would never have guessed. But for the bygone days you should have found How Much is that Doggie in the Window for your tune.
ReplyDeleteDid it really wave or did you have a day dream ?? Anyway I am convinced that Julie feels warmer then this mirror lady !
ReplyDeleteThis is advertising for Nikon :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
You should almost have the four lights surrounding that mannequin like they do for a disco ball. I'll bet it would be a neat concept to design a costume like that, and video how the light reflects off it.
ReplyDeleteNot so sure I could sit that long in one position for more than a few minutes, let along fully mirrored in tile...I hope she was paid beautifully. She really is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteStill a lot of colored leaves and pumpkins on straw bales in the shop windows round here.
Still waiting for you to show up with that bottle of red wine...the Apple Dumplings are gone but I have cookies~huge cookies~
Blessings
Impressive that the model could sit so still...and that the artwork was applied so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteSplendid!!
Let me get this straight: After 1 or 2 (?) pints you saw the mannequin wave? It does make a good story -- and a great header.
ReplyDeleteGreat header. What you see is not always what you think! I have seen these "no motion" actors at Disney World. People come up close to have their picture taken and get a surprise when an arm wraps around their shoulder or take a hat from their head. It is fun to watch the reaction of the unsuspecting.
ReplyDeleteCool shots! Love the header photo too.
ReplyDeleteNice- I do love some of the London shop windows- not necessarily those in Oxford street -further afield.
ReplyDeleteThere's a shop here that has a mannequin covered in mirrors, but in a slightly different pose.
ReplyDeleteLong live Nikon!
These are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI am not wearing a Nikon, but with my glasses I see like an eagle with cateracts.
ReplyDeleteAmazing mannequin and maybe after 2 pints I would have seen her wave too. (:0)
ReplyDeleteGreat concept
Wow,Cool mannequin!
ReplyDeleteYou probably know I'm a reflection freak so I obviously like this post. :-)
wow those are amazingly amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteDidn't know they made specs. Where do you slot in the SD card?
