Entrance to Southwell Minster (click here). A day out to Southwell to see some Art shops, one of which is where I got my coloured waistcoat from - alas - the shop was there but the lady who made the waistcoats isnt making any more.
A warm and sunny day a midst the cooler time that we were having.
Notice the grave stones here ---
Well lets have a closer look - shall we
Notice how the moss is growing and covering the words and letters on the Head Stones.
In the grounds is the remains of the Castle
Well - I hope you enjoyed your quick tour of the grounds of Southwell Minster (dont forget to check out the info of the Minster HERE.
Dont worry there's more to see from Southwell - so pop back soon to see.

Hello There, Since I've been away from blogging for a week, I have alot of catching up to do. We had a wonderful trip to Arkansas --but it's great to visit with my blog friends. Hope things are going well with you.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts --since you all love to travel like we do.. SO interesting. Southwell Minster looks like a fabulous place... Thanks!!!
Betsy
Love the moss on the letters! Nice pics. Remember once playing in the university orchestra there!
ReplyDeleteNice shots of the old buildings! The ancient buildings have charm. Would you say the grave stones are covered with literary moss?
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures of Southwell Minster. Your first photo is a real work of art. I hope you will be able to find someone else to make waistcoats for you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day, beautiful place! I love the moss lettering. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat moss growing in the letters of a name is really remarkable. That minster is remarkable. The lines are so clean and erect--every one of them. So much order! Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely shots of the Minster and castle!
ReplyDeleteWe've been to Southwell and had a great time at the Minster and looking around the shops. Gail of course bought a handbag. Not new fortunately, but from a 'vintage' shop, which I think is a posh word for second hand!
