1st thing we see is this family of swans
A family out for a brisk walk along the canal with ice on
We were followed by the Swans
A young one stretching his wings
Sun shining - giving a warm glow to the Grasses
Where the sun not shinning - ice still showing
Following the path
Turning around point at the Bridge
Reflections from the Bridge
Shadows from the Bridge
Sun slipping down among the trees
The wonderful show - with ice on the Canal
Wonderful reflections.
Oh - the Beauty of an evening walk
A real classic shot -
Still following us - them there swans!
On the way Home .........
A cold but beautiful walk, Stewart. I love the photos of the swans....they are graceful creatures.
ReplyDeleteThe photo showing the ice crystals catches my eye....beautiful!!
Thanks for taking me on your beautiful walk.
ReplyDeleteI love the cold icy reflections along the canal.
Great capture of the swans too.
I like that classic sunset, for the way it pulls double-duty. It shows the silhouetted landscape in the back, and the cattails in the foreground as well. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteWow--what a great walk, Stewart.... I'm so glad that you took us on that walk with you. Now I won't have to get out and walk myself--since I went with you... ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteThose swans wanted to go home with you....such pretty birds...
Loved the reflections, the water, the sunset, etc... Thanks again... I needed that walk!!!!
Betsy
Looks like you had a good bit of fresh air and exercise on Saturday, while we were snapping away in Birmingham
ReplyDeleteMy kids experiemented and took about 13 reflections.
ReplyDeleteYou might like to come to our Western Springs because we get the geese less the cold.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photography Stewart. I am reminded that people tell me they are, more or less, free to walk out in the countryside and cross fields without being arrested or shot at. Here, in this country, if you cross a field, and the farmer doesn't want you there he can have you arrested. People are still shot at from time to time. More or less to scare them off. They also post fields with "No hunting" signs.
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful walk and got some great pictures. It's obvious you made a great impression on the swans, since they followed you everywhere you went. I really like the icy pictures of the canal and the reflections.
ReplyDeleteAbe is right..about no walking across fields around here. I really enjoyed going along with you on your walk. Your photos are great.
ReplyDeleteA lovely walk indeed! The frost is so pretty on the leaves, especially when not surrounded by snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful walk. Those swans are very lovely. Your world is gorgeous, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat magical shots! Love the sun going down on the swans and the colour of that icy water!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your country side. And the sunset is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice walk through a beautiful landscape ! The swans look so funny all lined up like soldiers, lol !
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful collection of photos. The grasses and the frost are certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeletelovely photos of an amazing place.
ReplyDeletei especially love your sunset shots.
thanks for this nice pictorial tour.
These are really great pictures I am trying to get my act together when taking photos.
ReplyDeleteIt means a lot to me as this the the canal that my Great Uncle William Minkley worked on a coal boat in the 19th century.
How wonderful to see the sun shining, not much sun around here lately. Looks like it was quite cold, but enjoyable walking weather anyway. Good set of photos.
