No Flash

I think these shots without flash are sometimes better looking than those with flash, whats your thoughts on this?.

  1. You've captured some beautiful floral arrangements. I agree that the pictures taken without flash have a certain richness that is pleasing. I like the golden glow.

  2. Fabulous, Stewart... I too would rather not use the flash... Love the "Loaves and Fishes" one.. So creative.. Gorgeous stained-glass windows.

    Thanks for a beautiful post.

  3. Very creative flower arrangements. I prefer to take pictures without flash if it's possible, and it gives a far better result too with my cats, otherwise they get lazer eyes !

  4. Certainly plenty of flowers there to make a festival of. I hardly use flash at all. If i need an indoor or night shot, I'll use my GF1 and 20mm f1.7 lens. If the shot is a bit too yellow, then I'll tweak it with some software, or turn it monochrome

  5. I am not a photographer...but I know what pleases my eye when I see it. I agree that photos w/o flash are sometimes much better than with flash. Lovely photos. I wonder about each floral arrangement you posted...and the story that it tells. Whoever thought of the floral arrangement with 5 loaves and 2 fishes was creative.

  6. First let me say your header startled me.. ha ha

The flowers and the church photos were beautiful. I know you all had a good time. The no flash photos give a softer look which is interesting..

  7. The flower arrangers gave you some nice material for some downright beautiful photos.

  8. I like playing without flash. Especially when I use the tripod and experiment with white balance.

It's interesting to see how the camera picks up those warm tones in that lighting.

  9. Oh how lovely! As for the flash, most times I prefer the natural light.
