Dontcha just love - Steam Engines and Organs.
Well I do, and at Nottingham River Festival there were a long row of them, all shining bright and chuffing and playing, oh - what a sound and smell, it gets right into you.

  1. Oh how I'd love to see those old steam engines and organs, Stewart.... Reminded me of some of the riverboats in our country --where you can cruise down the river listening to the big theater organs blaring away. OR---when we used to go to the big theaters in the cities and hear the theater organs.... Oh --the memories...

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. I always love the colours on these old machines, similar colours on old steam engines.

  3. It looks very much like the one that was at our local fete in June.

  5. Yes, love them both, but don't often get to see old organs. At some of the small-town fairs here in late summer they bring out the old steam-powered tractors - quite a sight!!

    Lovely shots of these mac.

  8. I don't think I've ever seen so many calliopes in one place. Not only do they sound wonderful they are beautifully colorful as well.

  9. We didn't see these this year for some reason. There's always a good selection on offer. Bet you had a good time shooting away.

  10. That must have been really something to see. A nice dose of nostalgia in the summertime.

  11. Beautiful colours! I passed a steam engine on holiday - it looked lovely but it was barely moving!
