Black and white with deep shadows give the Rock Cemetery an eerie feeling but to me makes it also a place of beauty.
1) shows many paths and ways to explore.
2) shows haw the ground sinks with the sand and shows how the headstones have fallen with time.
3) Oh how these memorials stand out in B/W.
4) Shows how B/W bring out the shadows of the trees together with the Headstones.
I hope you enjoy these few Black and White shots of the Rock Cemetery in Nottingham.
My friend Tom Wiggley of WIGGERS WORLD has sent me a short film of the Rock Cemetery - I've included this with my B/W post = HERE.
This is my last post of the Rock Cemetery in Nottingham (for the time being) I hope you have enjoyed this walk in this wonderful Cemetery, of which I really enjoyed my visit there taking all these photos.
A rock cemetery? Those rocks were never alive; who are you trying to kid?
ReplyDeleteThese are so good in B&W!

Fascinating black and white shots!
ReplyDeleteI have sure enjoyed this series... I am glad the link was OK... thank you for the mention my friend.. ;o)
ReplyDeleteIt always looks different in black and white. I think cemeterys look more eery in b&w.
ReplyDeleteThe tombstones look good in monochrome. come back soon!
ReplyDeleteAfter a week without the internet, it's lovely to see all of your interesting shots of the Rock Cemetery. I like the tonalities of the B&W, the lovely greens of the color shots and most interesting are the caves.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am just imagining what scary movie would be made there, and then on the lighter side, I am thinking, how interesting it would be to know a little history about some of those souls buried their. Who are they, who are their ancestors and what is their story...hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteWell done! I believe that b&w requires more attention to exposure in order to get the details of the subject.
ReplyDeleteWhat a facinating cemetery, and such excellent images in B&W.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video and noticed some interesting orbs in one of the pictures.
Sunny :)

ReplyDeleteMac: Beautiful captures my friend.
ReplyDeleteLots of emotion in these - wouldn't have been the same in colour. Especially like the shadows in #1 & #3.
