Header 31-03-10 = Urban Decay

Urban Decay - was Gailsman choice for our Header this week.
My Header is An old warehouse in Nottingham, shot from the moving train.
Why this shot, because - I just love the shadows and lines that just
shout out - URBAN DECAY.

My post pics
1) The old warehouse with a ray of hope (rainbow)
this was very near to be my header, but dont tell GM(wink wink)
2) A derelict shop with the window cracked - just love the pattern.
3) Another derelict shop boarded up and painted out.

Go visit the Headbangers Team (list on my side bar - just underneath my Header.) and leave a comment.

As you may have guessed Ive posted earlier as I will be down south visiting Mum-In-Law in hospital on Headbangers day.
The surgeon tried to fit MIL with a pace maker today, but failed due to her earlier op a few years ago, but will try again tomorrow - and insert it on her other side. -- Thanks for all your blessings and wishes.

I have nominated that Jane Wiggley will take my vote for me this week.
So sorry that I have not visited folk today, as Blogger has been acting up, with wiping out posts for a while. I will rectify this when I'm back next week.

Good luck to you all - and sorry to GM for the ribbing I gave him over my Rainbow.(hehe).

  1. A good selection of pics showing the theme. You were very lucky with the rainbow. Alas no Dorothy. But you might get the pot of gold on Wednesday.
    Hope ML makes it through.

  3. These are amazing. I have a recent "urban decay" photo and it's ok; passable but I love how you got that effect at the bottom of that first shot. Love that.

  6. Lots of 'decay' in your pictures, Mac, but I love the one with the rainbow in it----giving a ray of HOPE.

I hope your MIL will be okay... Prayers for her and your family. Have safe travels.

  8. No one else has posted their Urban Decay yet, so you are the winner in my eye. Very nice shots of great subjects.

  9. A pity to hear bout you mother-in-law. I had a pacemaker myself for three years, with little discomfort (and my mother one for 14 years!). I'm sure it will work out fine (Give Julie all my best).

Your header shows the paradox of beauty in desolation very well. A paradox it is and a photographer you are.

  15. I'm a big fan of decaying buildings, they offer such a great variety of photographic opportunities - which you exploited superbly.

  18. Great 'decay' shots imac. Like the first a lot but the others also grab the attention. Hope you have safe travels and that the surgeon is able to do the necessary repairs for your MIL. God bless and have a great Easter!

  19. Mac: Your old shop looks in disrepair, quite decayed.

  22. I can see why you won with your header. It definitely is a great illustration of urban decay, but I think all of your photos did a great job of showing that.
