Sir Nigel Gresley Post2
Yesterday, I posted a photo of Sir Nigel Gresley 2009 after his Renovation, Today I'm posting a photo of Sir Nigel Gresley in 2008 - during his renovation, in the sheds at Grosmont North Yorkshire UK.
Lovely photo of a wonderful engine. I was active member in a similar society when I was young. I'm still a member, but haven't been active for years. There is an awful lot of work behind Sir Nigel Gresley's splendid condition which was a joy to see.
Wow - they really made quite the improvements, didn't they? It's beautiful in both stages, I think!
ReplyDeleteSteam - the heart pounds with excitement

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they preserved this wonderful engine.
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of the old steam locomotives in Cornwall.

Does he normally live at the York Railway Museum? I was there a couple of summers ago and remember seeing this engine I think.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Picture Imperfect...beautiful! A lot shinnier than the shield I got from you, ha! It's been properly cleaned now though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful renovation of the locomotive, Mac. Nice tribute to Sir Nigel.

I don't know, you wait for ages for a steam train to turn up, then two appear almost at the same time.
ReplyDeleteReally love your header photo.!

They really did a beautiful job. What do you suppose they could do for a '96 Nissan Altima?
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that this beautiful engine is getting such wonderful care.
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive locomotive.
ReplyDeleteMac: What a great train and to think it was knighted, who knew.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the quality of the lighting(the warm cast and the reflections)that you captured in this photo.
