You know I have to enlarge... the droplets....the wave turning back on itself....'crystal-like"..the adjective that I first think of when I see these...
It's funny how a picture can have such a different feeling when B/W. This wave has almost an ominous feeling, it doesn't make me want to frolic in it, like the wave with lovely colors. Regardless...it's a stunning picture with wonderful detail. Sunny :)
A wonderful sight, never to be repeated the same again. That's it with water, clouds, sand, all unique. Love the Pixie trail, can't wait to see one! Love Granny
As to the b/w conversion, on my monitor, I've lost all tonal detail in the dark triangular shadow of the wave-top on the left. It's too much a part of the shot to be pure black.
Good to see you having a go - it's the way you get better!
Hello Stewart - I made it over at last! Remember me? Yes, I'm the mad woman who braved those fearsome waves to lead you and your DW astray for an evening of wave and surf dashing and beer drinking!!!
Your blog and all of your photographs are awesome and I've added you to my blogroll on LOVE STITCHING RED
Very soon (Saturday)I will be doing a post about meeting up with your DW and yourself and pinching that photo you promised me!!
Bye for now, keep up the good work. Your blog is great!

That is amazing. An excellent subject and use of b&w.

Wonderful photographs :)
An excellent capture and, at least in my opinion, converting it to B & W gave it a fresh, crystal like look.
Hi Stewart - a quick critique as requested.
Great composition, nice frozen action.
