Dragon-fly

Taken Friday19thSeptember @ Grantham Canal.
On a walk DW and I went on yesterday afternoon.
This photo was taken with my 300mm VR Nikon lens
then zoomed and cropped once on the computer.
Will show you all later of the 5 stages I went through.

  3. Well captured Imac... I tried early this year to get a few shots of them nearby a local pond... none were as good as this that I got. I have since found out that early morning is the best time... as the sun startsto warm the earth these can be seen with wings out-stretched warming themselves before taking to the air to hunt they first meal of the day.

    It makes a super header..

  7. Jinksy is absolutely correct. Turquoise jewelry is the first thing that comes to mind. Excellent capture. I will post some dragonflies next week, but mine are sans blue. This is a beautiful creature, and it's a bonus that they eat mosquitoes.
