I have absolutely no idea, but based on your clue I would guess some kind of barometer.
It tells barometric pressure. Now what do I win? I think it's in a hydrometer. Yes, I am a weather watcher. You hit on something I know.

Barometer is my guess. Usually I feel really good when the barometric pressure goes down. Is that common?
