Butterflies.

Short breather for you until Tomorrow evening - when the Double Exposure Competition Winner will be announced. (still time to enter)

These Butterflies were taken today(Sunday) at Easton Walled Gardens, roughly 8 miles from Grantham. (More from Easton Gardens later)

All were taken with my new Nikon VR 70-300 mm lens, at 300.

  3. I have saved the last one, it is sooooo good.

I saw a butterfly yesterday, and thought I would take a photo, and then noticed it was resting on dog poo!!! I thought only flies were that disgusting.

  5. Nice ones! And the depth of field too. I don't have a very good telephoto lens, but even I did, I think I'd still like the excitement of sneaking up on the critters with a macro.

  10. Superb! I was in Currys this morning, looking at PCs and cameras. Don't know why I bothered, no-one asked me if they could help and I had no idea what I was looking out. But I bet your camera is a super duper thing with extra lenses and all kins of numbers and initials that would mean nothing to me...Have to take No. one and only son with me next time, or any child would do I suppose.

Did I say lovely pics? They so are and worthy of David's mention on POTD
