I was out on a photographing shoot the other day, when I came across this Church Yard.
I felt that this scene just drew me to it, it says so many things and creates many thoughts.
What thoughts go through your mind as you look at this photograph??
"Doorway to Heaven."
I have a thing about grave yards.. it might be their atmosphere but most likely my own thoughts.. you asked what this picture made me think of... I always think of loved ones who have past... my mum and dad.. older brother and many others... I have a link for you to follow if you have time. It is a poem I have always liked called

The German word for cemetery is Friedhof, literally "place of peace". I think it's very appropriate, don't you?
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel lonely and isolated, and I really want someone to open that door for me so that I can see out.
ReplyDeletemy little mind finds such peace and wonder in cemetaries... I often think of the families generations back and what all they did to make this a beautiful place and the sorrow of losing loved ones...all rolled into one big emotion.
ReplyDeleteJesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me...John 14: 6
ReplyDeleteI am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture... John 10:9
I must admit that I see it as a photographer - the shapes fit so well and is placed in a juxtaposition that automatically leads the eye from one to the other.
ReplyDeleteSecret garden....
ReplyDeleteI was going to mention the great visual juxtaposition, but RuneE already mentioned that...
ReplyDeleteNice shot, it gets me thinking privacy.
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of Khalil Gibran - 'Every end is a new beginning.'
ReplyDeleteUMM love the solitude to just reflect. What a peaceful place to sit and just talk. Even if it is an "alone" talk. Sometimes those talks are the most important and I feel so much better. I am myselfs best listener!
