I have often wondered how many miles (or km) of canals were built in the UK. I have never travelled ON them, but I have seen them many places. In many ways they are even more fascinating than the veteran railways you have, and that is saying something.
Quite a history to those old buildings! Those old stone masons knew what they were doing. Great use of the buidings to show history as it was practiced 200+ years ago.
Now I've ogled the photos, I shall go back to the history lesson - love the curved waterfall/dam pic
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place and me too i will go back and read about it. You always have beautiful places that you visit
