MY WORLD (2)

MY WORLD. week 2. = is now in Partnership with New Skywatch.

This is my first entrant to MY WORLD - as last week I was on holliday, up in Scotland.

My little part of the world is a Town called Gantham, Lincolnshire UK.

A brief history of Grantham is HERE.

If you have Google Earth, put in the post code NG31.

My photo this week is The Guildhall and Sir Isaac Newton's statue, who was born near Grantham and went to the Kings school in Grantham. Grantham's fame also is that the only woman Prime Minister (Margaret Thatcher) was born in Grantham.

More of Grantham and its district next week.

As for the other person least said.

  17. I am so glad I misunderstood and you are not retiring...I have been busy canning hot peppers today and just trying to snatch blog visits here and there...and had not even decided what to post for today. I did go back and reworded what I wrote...but I did read it right that Tom is totally quitting didn't I?

Any how, I love this building you posted...just imagine the craftsmanship that went into building it. I always look at architecture like this and wonder how it was done so perfectly. At least it looks perfect to me.

  27. Thank you for the wonderful tour. This 2nd week of meme really makes us appreciate the many places that we don't usually see or ever had a chance to visit like the one you showed me in this post. Hope you get to have time to check my world too. Another great job and more to come in the coming weeks.

  28. Nice to see Sir Isaak holding up so well.
Grantham features heavily in Georgette Héyer's novels as a staging post for travelling toffs.
I must suppose it as changed quite a bit since the advent of the motor car.
