This looks like a welcome home for me - this Bird of Paradise (named after our national bird) grows like a weed in my garden. Some many amazing varieties too.
These really are beatiful flower heads.. I remember the very first time I saw them as a small child... I though how much they looked like a bird.. later when I found out their name I smiled.
We had birds of paradise growing in our yard when I grew up in Southern California. Once I brought one home to Washington to show my first grade students, sho had never seen such a thing.

ReplyDeleteYou have an exquisite taste in flowers! My picture was taken in a garden On Mallorca in 2006.
