Splendid the photograph, marvellous colours, and the nerves in his feathers are impressive! Afterwards certain weeks will fill my region from these insects.
Ok so how do you know that is an elderly dragonfly?I love the close up shot of her. Oh and how can you tell if its a she? I am so full of questions huh?
To answer your questions,The Elderly Dragon Fly was taken a few years ago at Woodland Waters, near Grantham. I sent the photo to a insect expert, who says it was an elderly female, as it has lost most of her colour.
wonderful capture. I have always been interested in this insect. When I was a boy I would always see them in the summer. I love the close up on the design of the wing. Great shot.
I LOVE dragonflies! Glad you told us how you can tell she's elderly! I didn't realize that the more colorful ones are younger. I"ll remember that. I can't wait until they come around again. I got my first shot of one last year.
