David, - The most important thing I lost was, when my Mother took ill with Alzheimers Disease, I lost her Love - Friendship. Its the most terrible thing to see someone close to you or anyone when they loose their mind. When She passed away in 2006 I wrote a poem and last Feb when it was her birthday My wife Julie, Stepfather and I went and put some flowers and my poem where her ashes were scattered.
Very moving Imac.. ;o(
ReplyDeleteOh Imac....I am so sorry you mother had that terrible disease! My Mom has the "beginning" stages...and is on meds. Hopefully it will slow the progession! I remember when you posted this poem before....most lovely!
ReplyDeletePS - I have an award for you on my blog. It is not intended as a TAG...just to let you know that I think your blog is special!
I've read your poem before or seen it and it touches me still -only one mother evcer- sometimes I feel my son does not know I exist but then I do not really know the workings of his mind. His demonstrations are not this powerful for sure..
ReplyDeleteNice poem and beautiful photos. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteA touching post imac...our Mother's are so dear to us. We lost our mother five years ago. I still expect her phone call every morning. I don't expect that will ever pass.

I did not know that You are S.M. in person ... I was really touched by a poem of Yours the other day. You are a big heart IMAC, and Your mother must have been proud of You. What a lovely action to write a poem for her and visit to giver it to her. When exposed to this post, it is very hard to find the right words, and even harder in a second language. Maybe, a symbol should have been enough.

I remember that.
ReplyDeleteAs a mother of 3 son's i can only hope that my son's will be half this thoughtful& loving.
It was very touching to me the other day, my son who is for now living with us for the time being, has a job that has put him in a position to go to some old folks care center. He came home and he said, OK mom you are never going to be put in a nursing home.I have seen and heard enough that you will never go there. Made me swellup a little.
so sad, a lovely tribute, imac. Alzheimers is such a cruel thing.

ReplyDeleteLovely tribute to your Mother--the poem and then being the man who would write it (says a lot about her nurturing, doesn't it?)
