Just slightly out of focus... I practiced on leaves, marbles, and toy spiders. Coins is another good subject. My camera dose not have a 'Macro' setting, I still manage some good close ups, by close cropping after.
Lovely! I do love your shell photo. This is precisely why I want to get a macro lens... I paint watercolors of flowers, etc., and when I can get a good close-up, I see so much more detail to give me inspiration before I start painting.
(PS - I started a separate photo blog to keep my crafts and photos separate. The new link is on my profile.)
I love them Imac! The shell is superb.... and the last shot of the rose.... how beautiful. They are all very pretty! I don't have a Macro lens just a setting on my camera for Macro.
PS Thank you so much for visiting Brianna's blog! It means a LOT to her!
I think they all look good but I especially like the pampas grass. I have a hard time with macros as they are all blurry and I can't figure it out. If I get a good picture of anything it's usually by chance!
The focus can be better indeed. I have a closeup convertor for my camera and most times it's not sharp because the autofocus fails. Manual focus would be better but I can't see anything on the lcd in daylight. I like the photos.
Macro lens are super fun but often tough to get sharp images without a tripod. (In my humble opinion) :) :) At least for me it is!! The lens works a bit different with the depth of field than others from what I can tell with mine. Not sure which lens you have but it looks like you will be having tons of fun with it... Experiment often and try various f-stops..on the same subject. You will see the an amazing difference... Manual focus also works great with a Macro Lens...Good luck and look forward to seeing bunches of macro shots.. :) :)

Could do with being a bit sharper,do you hold your breath when taking macros as the slightest movement can spoil the picture.
Cheers Mark

The roses could be a little sharper...but they are pretty anyway. :)

I like the first rose, the 2nd one looks too dark.
I love the detail of the shell best.
