Durham Cathedral

What a wonderful building, Can they build like this nowadays? I guess not.
Then the sun shone, and the Cathedral came alive with colour.

Door knocker, tap tap, you may enter, but NO photos allowed!! - Oh bother.
Still I snuck in quick and captured this window.

Roads in Durham

Behind me is the main road, and to my left, across that road is our hotel - The Three Tuns. Just in front is the pub we called at for a pint after visiting Crook-Hall.
Just up this road to the top, turn right for the main shops, to the left is to the Castle and Cathedral.(all up-hill)-Phew.

Sleeping Boats of Durham

One of my fav pics is this - slight adjustment to the levels to create the reflections a little more and taken on the slant - enhances and makes it more eye catching. Taken early morning before the students come out to play.

Welcome to Durham

Durham, Castle and Cathedral.
3 days stay at the Three Tuns Hotel, where we had a wonderful time and booked for Bed/Breakfast/Ev Meal, 16th century building where they had tried to keep it as near as it was with a lot of genuine articles from that time, old beams and the like.
I'll take you around Durham and a day at Crook Hall and Gardens through the next few posts.
Just click on the links and see.
