Florence - Italy

Back to our cruise around the med - next port of call was Florence in Italy.
Well, we woke up and looked out - rain rain rain - and it rained all day, but we enjoyed a tour around.
We saw the Ponte Vecchio - and the iconic statue of David by the famous Michelangelo. to be seen here in my next posts.

Walking the walls

We walked the walls of Lincoln Castle, see how far can be seen on a clear day.
My chum Blood-Hound is in the 3rd pic capturing the Cathedral (of which I will show in my next post).
The Castle was build of sandstone and therefore suffered some damage over the winter - which is now being repaired.

This is the original mound where the old castle stood.
William 1st dissmantled some cottages to increase the size of the castle.

Lincoln City UK - Revisited

Friday Last, we visited Lincoln City once more for a photoshoot of the Castle - built by William the 1st after a couple of years he beat Harold in 1066.

We entered the Castle ( pic1 ) and right in front of us was the Court House (pic2)

Work in my Garden

Nearer to home - 2 days ago, I went out into the garden to do a little work,
I polished the flowers until they looked like the sun shone on them, even though it was the evening and the moon was out with a few pink clouds about.
Had to do these jobs before full moon and I change back to myself.

Near the Last Lap

We are going along this little street - before we attempt the last stretch down the hill, but first a couple of piccies from this street.

Well, here we are on the last lap down to the ship, last one down, buys the beer,lol.

Puff pant puff

Phew, lotta steps down and only half way to the bottom, to give my knees a break(which they nearly did) we'll go along a litle street before we attempt to go down the last bit, but thats in the next post.......

No Entry

Oh well - looks like no entry to the Light-House then.
I do like this photo tho, for its rust and peeling paint
Next post - down-hill and on the way back to the ship with some very nice piccies to show.

Walking the wall

Ah, here's DW taking a piccy of this nice flower and fence I showed earlier, well -- there -- you can now see the Light-House.
