This Kiddie got a surprise when they were eating a sarni when all of a sudden this Butterfly came and settled - wanting a piece too.

This young Lady revelled in her surprise - when this mighty wave splashed all over her at St Ives Cornwall.

Still at St Ives this Dog - well half buried dog - gsve me a surprise to see it digging for all its worth.

Lanzarote - with Artist Manrique in mind.

Jameos del Aqua.

The most Interesting connecting caves and underground Grottoes in the World which lies at the foot of the volcano Monte de la Corona.

The Jamous del Aqua was artistically developed for viewing by Cesar Manrique in 1968.

See if you can spot the small blind white crabs, a species unique to these caves.

Just take a look here - isnt it beautiful --

The water is very deep too

What fantastic coloures here in the water -- see the small white crab?? bottom of pic - roughly a third from the right hand side?? see?? Can you spot any more???

Now we go out the other side - up up up

Just look at this swimming pool - fancy a dip?? -- The only person allowed to swim here is King Carlos - so be warned lol.

Highlighting the Headbangers = Gailsman

Let me introduce to you - A Headbanger - My Friend and Blogging Buddy - Gailsman - Christopher from the Nottingham area UK.

Now whats better than that - is having a Nikon Partner too.

Julie my DW and I have met Christopher and his Beloved wife Gail a few times and have been on Photoshoots and out for meals and drinks.

Christopher and I have lots of fun in F/B trying to get the better of each other with our quips.

Now let me show you some shots of Christopher (some that he doesnt know I have)(lol) too

This was my 60th Birthday Party

Here Christopher was kidnapped and held prisoner and now he has to hide behind the curtain

But hes a very friendly sort of guy and Im sure he will forgive me for showing these shots --

Christopher also like to go shopping for bargains - here he is with his eye on us.

As a Headbanger he is a formidable opponent as well as being a fantastic photographer and keeps me on my toes in the competition.

Look at this (?) Animal = and my choice is = Look at this (Salubrious) Animal = The Swan

Some folk will ask - is a bird an Animal? - the answer is Yes - even Man and Woman are Animals.

The Swan

Swans usually mate for life. But there are times when a swan will take a new mate. A swan may take a new mate if its partner gets lost or dies.
Swans choose mates when they are 2 to 3 years old. A swan begins its courtship by displaying, or showing off, to another swan. Swans display while facing each other. They dip and turn their heads. Swans may also “kiss” bills. When swans kiss, their necks form a heart shape.
Many swan pairs set up territories. A pair picks a territory where there is a lot of food and a safe place to build a nest. Swans defend their territories fiercely. They fight off an intruder by bumping it and hitting it with their wings. When the intruder leaves, the swan pair celebrates. They call loudly and face each other with raised wings.

Swans are a Proud bird - Animal and will display their wings and feathers.

Swans make beautiful reflections too

Swans are True family Animals-Birds.

If you get too close they certainly will warn you off by Hissing at you.

Such a beautiful Bird - the Swan - very photogenic and - Salubrious.

I first thought of all the Headbangers with their cameras - Ive met all of you except for my Partner Tom (Fishing Guy) but do have 1 or 2 shots of you Tom with your Prize Fishes,lol.

My Blogging Friend Rune E. Eide who we met in Norway a couple of years ago when we were on a Cruise, Rune kindly showed us around his home town of Bergen - he's a real great Photographer.

Rune was in hospital over Christmas with Atypical Pneumonia - Rune has to be very careful as he has had a Heart Transplant some time ago - Rune is now at home with medication but has to be careful.

St Ives Streets empty at 5pm -

7pm and theres a few folk getting into the spirit of the New Year

10-30pm all ready the harbour and streets are full - and the big screen up and running - for the show

The Pier - where the fireworks are being let off -Town buzzing and here the bus station and taxi office empty

New Years Eve St Ives - Fancy Dress

11pm - and its New Years Eve in St Ives --- where the 6rd biggest party in the UK is held.

Pouring down with rain - Lots and lots of groups of folk and also single folk are on their way down to the Harbour of St Ives for the Firework display at Midnight

We didnt go as its windy with rain - so we watched from our flat window overlooking the Harbour - with a bottle of wine and nibbles.

Heaven knows what this little chappie is dressed up as? lol.

All roads into St Ives is closed to traffic early in the evening - from 8pm taxis were up and down dropping folk off at the bus station - just opposite our flat. They were lining up to drop off then back for more folk - this was going on till 11.45pm.

Rainbow at Carbis Bay - Cornwall

Bank Holiday Monday - saw us taking a walk along the coastal path to Carbis Bay for lunch at the Hotel.
They said it would be rain at times - they were right - but it rained while we were having lunch in the Carbis Bay Hotel.

As we set off for St Ives, we had this wonderful rainbow to see us back to St Ives.

When we got off the free transport bus from the ship - The main street was closed to traffic and lots of bikes,cars and folk.

We soon found out that the road was closed as a mini marathon race for children was taking place, me being me, thought ah, photo opportunity.

Santa Cruz - La-Palma.

We came across a group of Actors and Dancers in a square on a street.

They all were dressed (to kill) so to speak, all from the dead.

On checking out The poster (above) on Google

this is what we found.

A story telling festival - 29th Nov to 4th Dec 2011.

This year based on the Brothers Grimm Fairy tales.

Santa Cruz - La-Palma

Welcome to the Town of Santa Cruz - La Palma - one of the Canary Islands.

Nestling between the Mountains.

The main parade is lined with Palm Trees

- and Greenery.

Just look at these buildings with their balconies.

The sea - crashing against the rocks.

Shopping and then going for a snack and coffee-tea in one of the many cafes-bars.

One of the many Churches in Santa Cruz, where families gather after the services in the square.

Which way now? - so many side streets with shops - shops - shops.

And Street Markets too.

Hey !! - Im now into Digital - well that makes 2 Macs that I know of are,lol.

Just to the left - is the road to the docks and our ship - The Arcadia.

Our 1st Port of call, on our cruise was Madeira, it was dark when we docked.

After our breakfast - DW filmed a while before we left the ship Arcadia, to explore Madeira.

1st thing we did was to photograph our ship.

As we hadn't booked a guided tour, we thought we would take the open top bus and see for ourselves what Madeira had to offer.

We are back from our travels to the Canary Islands, and my post pics are from Gran Canaria.

Knowing Christopher, he will have a great show of toys - as he's a lad at heart and buys quite a few toys.

My Header (as Ive said is from Wales) is Rosie and Jim, on a barge on the canal.

Remember Rosie and Jim?? - Those lovable girl and boy dolls who had a TV series quite a few years ago.

Now, still going back some years (the boys will remember these) Catapults.

While in Gran Canaria last week we came across a shop who sold Catapults .

Wasnt it lucky that I photographed them. - Thanks Christopher.
Dont they just bring back the memories of when we were young - a catapult in your hand and a pocket full of pebbles.lol.

1st day at sea was a little rough - but the 2nd day we sailed into force 8 and we were rocking and rolling quite a lot. DW and our friend LB had to take sickness pills, altho they wernt sick, they felt queasy, but we rode it out.
We went to the top of the ship to the Crows Nest, wow, we were certainly rocking and rolling up there, the Ladies had to go back to the cabins for a lie down,lol.

My Take of Thanks - is - No matter what hand you are dealt with for your life - you still can enjoy your life if you have God and your friends to support you.

My Header is Terence the Tramp who has found a bed for the day - after he and his pal were out on the tiles for the night.

This weeks Header Challenge comes from Dave and his choice of theme is ""Weird and Wonderful""

My take on this is =

Weird and Wonderful - The World of Macs Macros from Nature.

My Header is Sparkling Raindrops on a fragile Leaf.

After a rain storm I went out into the garden with my Macro Lens - small tripod and photographed these weird and wonderful sparkling raindrops on a plant leaf.

Adjusted contrast- and then pulled the dark down so there was no background but left the raindrops sparkling.

The music and film I'm showing is Nature Macro - so enjoy.

This Greenbottle Fly was photographed in my garden too,

you can see the pollen around his legs and mouth.

Another Weird and Wonderful Macro shot.

A Bee also with Pollen around his legs.

This shot was from a friends garden.

An Iris taken at Doddington Hall - Again with using my small tripod.

This flower is one of the most weird and wonderful flower Ive seen - - reminds me of a plant from another World (man eating plant maybe) see his tongue sticking out.

Now - this is weird and wonderful - taken in our garden.

Looks like an alien creature - in fact its a plant with ice on - his head - lol.

Taken at Naturescape - a Wild flower Farm - not to far from us.

To me - this is one of my hours of glory to capture this - apart from my Header of course.lol.

This took around 2 hours to photograph - every time I crept up to them, they flew off joined together, it took about 12 attempts

to capture them - this was my finest hour,lol.

Stalking The Stag - to photograph

Yesterday Saturday 05-11-11, my mate BH and I decided to visit Belton Grounds from the Lions Gate to see if we could capture the Stag and Deer by camera. so around 2pm we entered the gate and started to walk a little, no deer or stag to be seen.It was also a little damp and misty.

We have to go further, so now - which way "I wonder" straight on or to the right.

Lets go straight on says BH - so on we go

We get to where the Lake is (not the 2 top lakes in the grounds - but half way from the Lion Gate to the House) Lake, when we saw a little movement

Shhh, BH says just over that hump --

Heres the lake

We bob down into the long grass, and we see some deer

We take a few shots of the Deer - then decide to hunt for the Stag

We walk through the Autumn leave and cross the bridge

BH whispers - just over there - the Stag is sitting just over there -

So we shoot off a few shots.
Here - there is no fence between us and the Stag.

Lets try and get closer - You go round that way and Ill go round this way shhh

The Stag hears us - He gets up and moves away

But - Wait - he stops again and starts to nibble on the grass --we move in closer - closer - a little more

Hey - this is great - just great we shoot of a few more shots - now -

what we want is ---wait for it ----

Thats it - just perfect - he looks at us ---snap snap snap

A perfect shot on a perfect days shoot.

""Sanguine"" - is our Header Challenge this week and by Lanny.

Google says- Colour,Mood,Personality,Joyful, Blood,+more, but I'll let you Google if you want to know more.

Ive chosen sanguine Colour - A Redish colour tending to Brown.

Listen to my Joyful music as you travel along the joyful Dawlish Line(track) through Sanguine coloured cliffs

As my Header shows, Deep Red with a tinge of Brown Cliffs from Dawlish in Devon.

A Public Garden near the Train Station with a rowboat full of flowers,backed by these Sanguine Colour Cliffs.

If you have never been to Dawlish and traveled along the main line from London to Penzance in Cornwall, then you are in for a thrill - as you travel past Dawlish and through the tunnels of these magnificent Sanguine Cliffs with the sea on one side and cliffs on the other side.

Ive traveled many times along these tracks - on the way to St Ives in Cornwall.

This line is in danger - as the cliffs at times crumble and slide down and block the line - also if its

a rough day and the tides is up - I remember one time we traveled and the sea was breaking over the wall and splashing on the carriages windows.

Here you see one of the main line traveler on its way from Cornwall passing through Dawlish.

This is Dawlish Station and its beach, as you can see, its a very pleasant place to visit.

Dawlish is also famous for its Black Swan.

Deer - Gailsman At Belton

Meeting of Blogger friends - (Christopher (Gailsman) and I (imac) + our D/Ws Gail and Julie met on Monday lunch time at the Gap Inn on the A52 6 miles from Grantham, we all had the Carvery - Christopher had veggie.- Now for a man who goes out trying all the Ales under the Sun - sat and drank Lemon and Lime.

Must be fair to the ol boy tho - he was driving.

We ended up at the Lion Gates at Belton House to see if we could capture the Deer-Rutting - Deer was there - but no rutting,lol.
The light was failing - so the pics are not as good as they could be.
Top pic is the entrance from the Lions Gate - looking down to Belton House about 1 mile away.

In the top 2 pics - you can see the Big Daddy with his antlers, he's black in colour

These 3 were having a rest and didnt mind us taking their pics.

Little Boy Blue(Christopher) and Gail - Gails photographing the Deer - Christopher photographing the trees

Not too sure if this is the Gate Keepers House but it sure looks a neat place as the sheep like to parade around it.

We all finished up photographing the Tall trees , and julie picked up a little piece of bark for dyeing with for her material.

Finely we had to leave - as it was getting dark and Christopher wanted to go home - he even turned down some ginger cake and custard, mmmmm, you missed a real treat my friend.

Ball-biturary,
Yesterday, Mr Ball was lost at sea, his claim to fame -in his younger years he was the ball that scored the last goal in 1966 for England to win the World Cup, playing against Germany.

Andre Rieu - Playing Autumn Landscapes.

In 2007 we took a coach holiday to Austria in October - when the Autumn colours were a "WOW" factor.

My Header shows the mountain side - full of colour.

This is the Coach Company we went with A&P Travel - a father and son company.

If ever you get the chance to travel with A&P - you will be in good hands, good company and assured of a good time.

We stayed in the village of Waidring at a family ran hotel called Tiroler-Adler.

Heres the cable car taking us up to the mountain top with the village right down below..

Here's another shot of the Autumn Coloured Mountain with a band of mist swirling around.

Just on the outskirts of our village - you can see the mountains.

Still on the edge of the village - you can see some of the lovely buildings that are in Waidring.

We took a short coach ride to a lake very near Waudring called Lake Pillersee

Just take a look at these fantastic colours of the trees - the Lake.

Never have I ever seen colour like Ive see here.

I could sit here forever - just trying to take in all this Colour - Reflections.

Its so so peaceful, relaxing - if you have never been to Austria before - I can surly recommend it. To Right.

TECHNOLOGY is Christophers choice for our Header Challenge this week.

Now - I'm no Techno man, just point and shoot mostly with my camera,

BUT

I can play a little with PSE2&6 -- to change and alter my photos at times.

My Header is - ""Just a Sunset - African Style""

Now I find that taking a sunset in auto - it brings the sun out in white and not yellow or orange

so I played with my wheels on my camera and found that one setting brought the sun out yellowish - orangeish

but only showed the sun. So I had to work my magic on this shot and came up with my -

Just a Sunset - African Style.

2 Years ago the Headbangers were born, Tom and I (imac) were changing our Headers for a little bit of fun - when Tom said " we should do this as a little meme" on a weekly basis - hence - The Headbangers were born.

We try not to have rules - as such - but play for fun + now we play and vote for the best Header and Post.

We have a Gold Shield for the winner

Silver for 2nd place

and Bronze for the runners up.

Our Shields were created by Tom Wigley who was our 3rd Headbanger

Along the River Alde

With the sea just yards behind us - we start our little walk along the River Alde - from the Yachting club

Little late getting out on the River, these 2 folk get ready to shove off.

We circle around the small inlets

Life and Nature seems to live in all seasons

Moored up for the season - it seems here.

Look to the right and see the bales of hay

The river has quite a few yachts just swaying to and fro on the river.

Turn around and see just how far we have walked

I bet in the spring there would be quite a lot of birds just around here -
